Giftedness and Hard Work

Terence Tao, a Mathematics Professor in UCLA, obtained his Phd in Mathematics at the age of 21. He is well-known for his works in Mathematics.
From young, he loves numbers and patterns. He finds that this love sharpens his thinking.
At nine, Tao attended Flinders University reading Mathematics. In 1986, when asked how he compared himself to the older students, he replied he is in the 80s to 90s. He is near perfect. We like his humility. He become smart because he (at 05:45 of the Tao video interview) is sure that “being smart is not really enough, you also have to work pretty hard.”

Math is also about being creative, and Tao won many honours for the stunning work he had created. From the videos, you hear from Terence how useful and the potential uses of Math in our daily life. Imagination and vision apply.
